Forged Wheels

Forged wheels are manufactured by shaping a solid piece of metal—commonly an aluminum alloy—under high pressure. The process produces a dense grain structure that can provide high strength with less material than many conventional cast designs.

How forged wheels are made

A heated metal billet is pressed into a preliminary wheel shape and then machined to its final dimensions and design. Depending on the manufacturer, a forged wheel may be one-piece or assembled from multiple forged components.

Why drivers choose forged wheels

The main advantages can include reduced weight, high strength and precise manufacturing. Lower wheel mass may improve steering response and suspension control, although the result depends on the complete wheel-and-tire package.

Important fitment checks

Forged construction does not guarantee correct fitment. Wheel diameter, width, offset, bolt pattern, centre bore, load rating and brake clearance must all match the vehicle. Finish quality and care requirements also vary between products.
